I have a friend who has a 96 GMC (whatever the GMC parallel for the Suburban is). Whatever it is, it's the Chevy pickup interior...
Anyway, it has the dealer intalled factory option CD player - the single slot jobber under the deck. The deck has the "Tape/AUX" button which switches to the CD input, and what he is wondering (and me too) - is there a way to break into the audio path BETWEEN the CD and the radio for adding the audio output from his XM-TO-GO radio? If the CD has to go away, not the biggest loss, it hardly works anymore, but if keeping it is an option, we'd like to explore that also.
Any suggestions?
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

Use the SoundGate SDSGM1, it gives you two Aux inputs and keeps the CD player.

You rock dude! Looks like exactly the toy we need... Does it just listen to the inputs and switch to the active input automatically? Does it prioritize? I'm a little fuzzy on the actual workings, and the wesite does not offer much more than an applications flyer...

Dave, I like the PAC AA1-GM9, it allows you to keep the CD and gives you 2 aux inputs AND allows the On Star to work.
There is no such thing as free installation!

The SoundGate peice allows OnStar to work also, It come with a switch you mount on the dash to select between sources. I have always wanted a device that does signal sensing, but no one has came up with that yet.
