Looking for a System.

Ok here's the deal I had my whole system jacked (Thanks the the a-holes that did that) Anyway's State farm is rebuying my stuff. I had a pretty budget system (I had a nice Kenwood HU, and a Solo-baric S8L5 in a ported box, and a set on Kicker Components) I loved my system. I have a good opertunitity to make in better and I need some help. This is all going into a 2002 Cavilier (4x6's up front, 6x9's in the back and a sub). Music I like. I listen to everything except opera. I love sound quality (although my Solo-Baric s8l5 did well for me!)Keep in mind it was a x-cab s-10 now it will be in the trunk.) First off I need a HU and I know this is mostly personal preference. I like the Alpines except the damn 2v preouts are killing me. I really don't want another Kenwood I had trouble out of mine, So I'm going to shop around for this. Amps: I'm looking at the Kicker 700.5 (not sure I need a 5 channel being that I'm only going to 4x6's up front) So this is still up in the air. What brands do you guys suggest. Sub: I'm very open on this item. Like I've said my solo-baric sis a good job for me, so I'm looking to improve here, I have a whole truck for a enclosure. Speakers: I thinking 4x6 plates are the way I want to go. And I'm not too sure what direction I want to go with the 6x9's In closing I've been out of the scene for such a lot time I'm not too sure what is good anymore. It looks like most HU's have a 22rms and a 50max with that power would it be nesisary to amp the plates ? I think it would be a good a idea to amp the 6x9's. Certainally I need a ton of help here. You should make sure you get nice front speakers.  It is what you hear the most of.  There are also a lot of good subs out there.  It all depends on preference and budget.  You should go to a local dealer and look and listen to what subs they have.  You'll only know what you like if you listen.That's my opinion. Take it, leave it, or correct me.

Alright, first off, BUDGET. That'll be a huge factor. You should find a rough estimate of how much you want to spend on each piece and give it to us. Second, decide if you want a big loud spl type system or a clean sq system. I know you said you love SQ. But the fact that you had an L5 kind of made me wonder since those are more of an spl sub. Now, for the HU, look around for Eclipse HU's. They're great units and have either 5 or 8v outputs. Amps: I would suggest either a 2 channel or a 4 channel to drive some speakers then a seperate mono amp for the sub(s). Sub: Too many to choose from. Tell us if you're looking for more of an sq or more of an spl setup. Then what sizes 8, 10, 12, etc. And how many of them you'd like. Speakers: For speakers, you really need to go hear them for yourself. Go down to some local shops and give 'em a listen. Then come back and tell us which ones you're looking at. I wouldn't really worry about the RMS rating on HU's. I just suggest using an amp for any aftermarket speakers.
