The OEM radio in my Dad's 1993 Cadillac Deville refuses to power on. I'd like to get him a replacement radio, either the same one, or another OEM radio that includes a CD player. He's not big on using aftermarket equipment even though I think he could get a better radio for less money. He just likes the "clean' look of a factory dash. Any ideas?

you can get better radio for less $$. and typically sound is better too. i think  if you flush mount an aftermarket deck they look clean that way. and try find one that complements the dash.

My brother's 92 had the same problem.  I took the unit apart, and after some testing, found that the power button was bad.  I bypassed the power button on the factory unit- I clipped the wires loose and ran my own pigtail out the back to connect my own switch.  It worked fine from then on.

That came with a cassette deck, right?  You won't find an OEM replacement cd player AFAIK.  If he wants a cd player, go aftermarket.  You can get an entry- level Alpine with a kit, harness, and antenna adapter for under 2 bills .

My ex once told me I have a perfect face for radio.
