i am trying to install the above adapters in my 88 saab in the rear. i cant for the life of me figure out how they could possibly fit not just in my car but any car. there are no holes, there are a bunch of tabs sticking indide the oval where the speaker would be, and they come with these long metal tong like hook aparatus which apparently holds something in place somehow. i hope i have given enough info to get some help, thanks.

hi,

the adapters you have are meant to install 6x9's in a car with 4x10's originally  (an older GM, late 70's, early 80's) vehicle.  not sure they will be much use to you. you maybe beanle to fasten them in place with different hardware.   does your vehicle have a hatchback?..install the 6x9's in the cargo cover panel (wood?) that is in the hatch area.  just a thought.

i have 4x10s in there now but they suck. thats why i got the adapters. the 4x10s are mounted under a metal shelf which holds the board over the hatchback. i have some decent alpines in the board, but since it was not designed for that, it is bowing under the weight and falling in. plus without anything bolted down, i get no volume and lots of washed out sound. i think the adapters are the right course if i could get a clue as to their use. thanks
