6 speaker setup

trying to figure the best way to go about wiring up my VW corrado w/ the 6 speakers.

i just ordered infinity 4x6 seperate(mid/tweet) for the rear that i plan on running off of my headunit

i have a PPI a300.2 that i want to run my 4 front speakers

now i havnt ordered my front speakers yet becuase thats in the air still.  but should i either get the 5.25" 2ways and 4" 2ways for the dash like factory, or do a 5.25" component set with the tweets mounted in the apillar area?

and if i were to go w/ 4 front speakers. what would i do for crossovers? right now i have series running off of stock HU. for the 4 fronts.

75x2 @ 4ohms

150x2 @ 2ohms

1.  Call the pair of front components "two speakers".  A component set or a coaxial are properly referred to as speakers.  This keeps everyone from thinking that you are running double speakers in the front that output the same frequency range.  (OEM people count up all the drivers to make it sound impressive...they even sometimes count up the output rating for each driver and add them together to make the system sound like its powerful.)

2.  The component pair can be placed:  mid in the OEM location in door and the tweet in the pillar.  And/or you can experiment with placement.  Ignore the dash locations...you won't benefit by using those.  Keep it simple.

3.  The component set will come with crossover.  You don't have to use anything else to separate signals between the components.  Just follow hookup instructions.

4.  The fronts will get 75 watts per side, plenty.  Use components rated at 4 ohms.  Hook just one pair of speakers to the amp.  No series wiring, no parallel wiring.

5.  Use the high pass filter on the amp set at about 80 Hz, or if you use 5.25" mids set it at about 100 Hz.  Try to install 6.5" if possible (it usually is).

6.  Run the 4x6's off the head unit as you suggested.

ok thanks for the info.  i thought ditching the dash speakers was the best idea, and a guage pod is blocking my drivers side.

5.25" is my max size for a component mid driver or less i FG something up(rather not) but i am more than able to do the FG'ing would it be worth my time to go with the 6.5"?

im also looking at inifiniy ref. had the 6.5" comp. set in my gti and was very happy with it. anything else in the 150-225$ price range you would reccomend?
