Does anyone have a wire harness color diagram. Im trying to find out if the unit has illumination or a dimmer wire. unit came with truck I bought with wires pulled out. No clue where they go or what color. Appreciate any help.

are you talking about the wires going to the plug in the back of the sony? or the factory plug? And what color wires ARE present? FYI if in doubt you can always cap/tape off the illumination and/or dimmer wires and still use almost all of the features of the radio.

if you want the head units wire diagram ( not the truck ) it should look like this:

Typical Head Unit Wire Harness
Function	Typical Wire Colors
Memory / Constant 12V(+)	Yellow
Switch / Accessory	Red
Ground	Black
Illumination	ORANGE / White
Antenna Remote	Blue
Amp Remote	Blue/White
Left Front (+)	White
Left Front (-)	WHITE/ Black
Right Front (+)	Grey
Right Front (-)	Grey/Black
Left Rear (+)	Geen
Left Rear (-)	GREEN/ Black
Right Rear (+)	Violet

Thanks for the help. this kina helps, Ineed the sony plug wires. Its missing most of them. so I dont know where they go. I figured out +,-,AMP,and acc. I wanted to find the ILL because its really dim in the day. I knowsome units run off the dimmer in the day. Thanks. this is a start.

Most Sony's also have a dimmer feature in the menu. 3 settings, AUTO, ON, and OFF. This bypasses the vehicle lighting dimmer and uses Sony presets. Check to see if you have this feature.
