power source in a 93 corolla

hello, i am currently installing an aiwa cd player in my 1993 toyota corolla.  I looked up all the connections and my only problem is that i cannot find the constant power wire... according to the charts it is the blue/ yellow wire, but if i turn my car off it kills the power and all my presets are lost and the clock is reset.. i have no idea what to do .. plz help . thx alot

Hey Dave, do you not have a light tester or DMM ? This will help you out alot and will only cost you about $ 4.00 for the light tester. Ground the light tester and probe the wires with the car off. When the light turns on, you have the constant wire located and splice into it and solder/tape together. If you still can not find it in the back of the deck, then run a new wire to the fuse box and find a constant wire there and remove the blade fuse and wrap the wire around the blade fuse and reinsert into the slot. Make sure that you fuse this wire as well when you do this procedure.
