I have an IPod and want to connect to my Sony single CD player. The head is acting as a pre-amp and feeds the audio into a Denon 6 ch amp. The head also has a pair of RCA inputs and a din plug connector for adding a Minidisc/ CD Changer unit. Unless one of these is connected, the input source selector only selects either radio or CD, and the inputs are not "live". Is there some way (thru the din plug socket) to make the unit think it has this connection, thus allowing its selection and audio input/output? Any help much appreciated.

Sony may make what is called an auxillary input that would plug into the din cord on the back of the radio.  This should allow the radio to choose the input of your choice.
