i installed my new cd player i got from crutchfield.com in my 1998 ford escort. now when i turn on my car the dash lights and the turn signal lights are on when they the lights are in the off position. the only way to turn them off is to turn the car off. i didnt mess with anything but the cd player and i used the install kit from crutchfield to install it. can anyone tell me how to fix this. i think i have a wire mixed up but i dont know.

did you hook up the orange wire from the radio to the orange of the harness?? Disconnect that wire and test the radio out. This may be the problem.

since you mention about the illumination wire, i dont think you need to connect that wire to anything. Not all wires from the harness you need. Just connect the harness to the cdplayer wires which includes ( left/right front and rear speakers, RED / yellow 12 volt + , black ground wire.) that's it. that's all you really need to run the cd player. test that out first. Let us know.
