Hey guys, I've got a 900 watt 5ch amp wired to my 4 speakers and subwoofer. It is well grounded with a 0 gauge wire, and has a 0 gauge power wire. Every time I plug it in, the safety light comes on, and immediatly blows all three fuses built into the amp. The fuse under the hood however has not gone out yet. I've tried reducing it to a 10 gauge wire after a second fuse, but that does nothing. Any idea what's going on? Thanks in advance for your help.

whaaaaat, need more info... what kind of amp. what the fuse ratings are (all 3 on amp) and one under the hood...

and what are you doing going from 0 gauge to 10 gauge? sounds pretty wierd unless i missed something.

why would it do something, sounds horrible, you will probably burn this wire up.

get more info up here before the big knowledgable guys read this.

some of that info is incorrect. I also accidently posted twice, but the info is correct in the second one.

...or the second one was deleted already. Thanks. It's a Pheonix Gold 900.05 with one 50a and 2 20a fuses built in. The 50a didn't actually blow. I've tried a 100a and a 60a under the hood. When I reduced the wire, it was with the 100a under the hood, and a 60a between the 0g and the 10g. need any other info?

You have 1/0 gauge wire directly into the amp? Are there loose wire strands?

And what did you say about 10 gauge? You're not using that for anything, tell me I read it wrong. Oh, I see Kirk already checked this out.

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

I have a crimp terminal on the 0g, with electric tape on everthing except where it attaches to the amp.

Disconnect the rca's and speakers and see if it comes on without going into protect/blowing fuses. If not, the amp is toast. If it does come on, check the speaker wiring- something's probably shorted. Also, plug in the rca's to eliminate them as a cause for the problem.
