Wow that was quick !

It currently has a cruddy crackling old push button radio with MW & FM and a pair of speakers behind in the roof

I mainly want to use the CD for those long hours of diving over the fields but the radio will also be useful

Thanks for your help with this and sorry for my ignorance but what is Acc is it live?

Also I have 2 phono leads red and white and 13 coloured wires on the head unit

I think 8 are speaker wires because they are pairs of  same colour but one of each pair has a solid black line running down it.

I have blue(antenna), yellow (12v memory), orange(illumination),black (earth)and red (12v ign) - any idea what I do with each?

I guess black is ground, red is acc??, what do I do with the rest?

Thanks you have been a great help - sorry for the delay in replying

I think there is only one live wire going to the old radio - if so can I connect the yellow and red together?

The old radio can be turned on with the ignition off if that helps

Yes, you can just connect them together, but since you don't have a constant source of power at the radio, you'll lose your memory (station presets, sound settings, clock, etc.) Alternatively, you can run a fused wire directly from the battery for your memory/constant (yellow) wire. The wire that shows power when the key is turned will be connected to the accessory wire (red).
My ex once told me I have a perfect face for radio.

Sorry, you can NOT post a reply.
