ohm level regulator

Has anyone ever heard of an Ohm Level Regulator? You can plug multiple subs into the unit and select the ohm level you want your amp to read. If so, where can I find one? If not, how can I wire (x6) 10 dvc 4ohm speakers to read 2 ohms at the amp?

You can't get 2 ohms with them, but you can get fairly close at about 2.6 ohms.  What you would do is parallel 3 sets of subs together (getting a 1.3 ohm load), then series those two sets together.  As for your other question, even if the device did add resistance to get the impedance down to 2 ohms, all that extra power your amplifier would be producing would only be generated as heat and not be supplied into the subs.  Keep in mind that just because your amplifier is rated to be stable down to 2 ohms, it doesn't mean you HAVE to run it at 2 ohms or you aren't getting your moneys worth.  After all, do you drive your vehicle everywhere at it's maximum rated speed?

Never even thought about it just being created as heat... I try to keep maximum speed to a minimal.... the tahoe just wasn't made for an indy track....
