Hi. I have an '98 Civic Hatchback, and need to install a medium size (600W) amp. I'm seeking advice for location.
Under the seat seems right, but it seems to me that foot space is killed for rear passengers.
I have also seen some mounted to the rear seats "wall" that faces the front seats.
Other options are behind the rear seats, in the cargo area (although it seems the Civic's seats don't have a hard/metal area to mount the amp correctly).
And last, in the trunk floor, which is actually a piece of cardboard in the civic, covering the spare tire, below the carpet. Could this be a good place?
Thanks for the info/recommendations and sorry for my bad english.

If it is any thing like my civic (98 coupe) there should be a little room in the spare tire well toward the front under the cardboard. Just make a amp rack under there, being careful how you mount it because of the gas tank, and it should fit in there without much of a problem. You might want to consider a fan if you go that route. As far as mounting to the back of the seat I have never had much of a problem in the civics, just try to get three of the four screws into metal.

I've been sick lately, sorry I won't be on much.

Hi again. Thanks for your answer. I have one more question: what exactly is an amp rack? Do you have any pictures or URLs to show me? Thanks!
