Hello everybody!

I have a 2000 Olds Alero in our shop with an odd problem. When listening to the radio if you turn on the rear defrost the radio looses its signal. Sounds just like you unplugged the antenna. We have replaced the RDO module in the rear 1/4 panel as the antenna is on the rear window. That has not fixied the problem. The wiring checks out ok to the window. Any ideas?

If the problem only occurs on the FM band and not the AM band, you have one or more breaks in the rear defogger grid. The breaks are sometimes hard to find. Use cold water to fog up the window and then turn on the rear defogger. It will show you where the breaks are because those areas won't clear properly.
