2004 dodge ram 2500 diesel . i have the factory installed security system with keyless entry. system went off by it's self . first time i was able to reset , then it happened again .

this time the horn would not go off. had to pull fuse. now horn is got power to it at all times and if truck sits for 2 or 3 days batteries are drained enough that it will not start. i would like to disable this part of the system if possible. or does it call for a new module

When you say the horn always has power, are you saying it is always sounding? Or there is always 12 volts on both terminals of the horn?

yes, if i were to put the fuse back in the horn would continually be sounding.

Have you tried to locate the security system? Sounds like there may be a problem with the horn honk output of the system. It is possibly keeping a relay energized, thus pulling the battery down. If you find the system try unplugging it, put the fuse back in and see what happens. If it still goes off you will need to look for a wire at the steering column under the dash. According to info found here it will be a BLACK/ red wire. If you find that wire and it has something connected to it you will have to trace it back and see if there is a relay connected to it. IF you find the relay remove one of the wires that are connected to terminal 85 or terminal 86. Plug the system back in and put the fuse back in and see what happens.
