The power seat switch in my car has broken and I have decided to hook it up to a toggle switch for now. There are 4 wires going to the original switch. They are:: red[pos],black[neg],yellow[?],YELLOW /GREEN stripe[?]
I bought a toggle switch that is ; on/off/on and is temporary which ,of course, means it goes back to OFF when the switch is released. The toggle is not marked by anything other than numbers .1 through 6.Does anyone know how to wire this up or a website to help me.The toggle as I said, has 6 prongs and I need for it to reverse polarity as to go forward and back with this one switch
  Thanks in advance

The switch you have is a single pole double throw switch.  The original is a double pole double throw.  The following diagram is what you need to do.

The two wires that say to motor on the diagram connect to the 2 wires that are not power or ground.

The above is assuming that the center connections are the common connections

Glad to help.    I don't know how heavy duty your new switch is, but it might be worth while saving the first diagram in case your switch fails.
