hey all, just finished an r/s install on a 05 ford focus. installed an autostart 2450 2way . Simple car to do however, after the install the daytime running lights stay on when the car is shut down by remote or by key. the only way to turn them off is turn the healight switch on, and then off. although the problem dosent happen everytime, my concern is having those daytime running lights stay on. the only connection i made for lights was the parking lights and they work fine, including during remote start. i am trying to think of any reason or connection that might be causing this to happen. By the way, i did think of the fact that some vehicles lights will stay on momemtarily upon shut down, but these ones do not want to turn off. i also supposed i could use the rearm wire to pulse the headlights if neccessary but prefer not to. Any ideas help or insight into this would be greatly appreciated.

            Thank-you in advance

You can open/break, the headlight wire with a relay triggered by ground while running.

It's the smaller GREEN/ red @ the headlight switch.

Hi guys, and thanks for the replies. yes it does it with the key as well. I would say about 90% of the time the drl do not turn off, and once in a while they work fine. At this point I cant see the r/s causing the issue as technically upon shutdown everthing should be powered down. also the vehicle does this even when the r/s has not been activated. Strange though as the car did not do this before the install. Well i will keep tinkering with it and see what i can find.

Thanks again for the replies
