Yeah i agree, my Olds I had had a twilight sentinel and I hated my lights always on in the night when I locked or unlocked or whatever.
Anyway: Depending on the year, your headlight wire could be red at the switch and it will require a negative trigger. Branch your parking light wire and put one to your parking lights, and the other to pin 86. Pin 85 and 87 go to ground, and pin 30 goes to the red wire at the switch. You should fuse the wire that goes to the red wire.

1996 and newer troopers use red, and 95 and older use RED / black
