Hi everyone. I successfully added the status/glass break sensor to my 04 Toyota DCab Tacoma.  It is a very easy and inexpensive modification that uses existing hardware on the vehicle (except for the glass break sensor ($23). The instructions are here if anyone is interested: http://customtacos.com/tech/index.php?article=12
The next natural progression would be to add a shock/vibration sensor. I did some searching here, and other forums and I haven't come up with anything definative.  Looking at the RS3200 wiring diagram, it doesn't look like it would be a big deal.  The OEM Tacoma factory system diagrams are here: http://customtacos.com/ubbthreads/files/408800-043tvip%5B1%5D.pdf
Was wondering if anyone has gone through this already? The TVIP ecu is not really labeled or described well and trying to figure out what all the inputs are looking at is foreign to myself. I bought a Stinger 504D shock sensor and the plan was to mount somewhere in the center of the vehicle.
 
Any idea what would be a good place to tap into into the RS3200 system in order to trip the alarm when it is armed?  I plan on adding a relay to the ignition switch that will take power away from the shock sensor when the truck is turned on.  My big hangup is I can't decide the best place to tap into the RS3200 system.  I was think about using the shock sensor to make a relay that would simulate a ground at one of the door switches but I can't make up my mind and certainly don't want to go in blind.
This might turn out to be a cheap and easy mod to enhance OEM alarm upgrade I have done already. Anyone want to chime in feel free, I have zero experience with alarms. Thanks.

You can leave it turned on, draw is minimal, connect to door or preferably trunk sensor wire if your alarm doesn't have a dedicated input. Remember to doide the joining cable and the trunk cable before the join (2 x 1N4004 diodes with the bands away from the alarm). The alaternative would be to parallel it with the shock sensor.

I don't have a truck sensor, in my case it's a tail gate and it is not powered nor monitored by the factory alarm.  I would love to splice it into the glass break sensor circuit and leave the door sensors alone.  I have no idea on how to splice it into the glass break sensor.  I know that I can adjust the sensitivity of the glass break sensor at the RS3200 unit.  Would I be creating more headaches for myself using the glass break sensor?  I thought the glass break sensor was a microphone and I really have no idea how to join the ground that the shock sensor produces. 

I read here on this forum, people recommend using a relay to power the shock sensor only when the vehicle is off.  Not sure of the pros and cons of doing it this way, just figured that this is the way it's done.

Again sorry, I keep typing too fast for my brain! I meant TRUNK sensor or wire. Does your mic from the glass break go straight to the alarm or does it go to a control box with 3 or 4 wires going to  the alarm. If the second then you parallel to these. These should be red, black, green, blue. If so wire in the equivalent colours from the stinger. Can't help anymore because it's 11:07 at night here and I've forgotten to TiVo Boston Legal! Talk tomorrow if neccessary!

The glass break sensor (GBS) is hooked up directly to the alarm and uses a shield wire.  The GBS wires are colored black and white.  The glass break sensor inputs to the alarm, shown on the diagrams in the above link, have a symbol of MI+ and MI- .  I have a feeling that the RS3200 system uses the mic input directly and so the glass break sensor will not inferface with the shock sensor.  If that's the case then I have to use one of the door switches.  If you have a sec, can you look at the link above to the RS3200 diagram and give me your opinion as to which sensor I should splice into?  The RS3200 system is a factory alarm and power door lock controller in one as far as I know.   I am a little confused as to which switch to splice into because I'm not sure which switches the alarm is monitoring.  Thanks again!
