I'm installing on my son's 240sx 1991 nissan. I'm not worried about the remote starter function. The car is soon to be swap to a manual transmission and  I bought the alarm for the one mile range two way commo ability. If I was to install it without using the remote starter option:

1) do I leave harness H3 and remote start ribbon harness unhooked ? any thing else I dont need ?

2) Will I still have the failsafe starter kill functional ?

3) What can I use for the hood pin trigger connection, If not using the H3 harness?

4) Why is the manual specifically asking to use the ACC wire that controls the heater blower ?? How is the alarm using this connection ??

Sorry about all the questions, but the alarm manual really makes the installation harder and complicated.

You should install those wires, because they have alarm functions as well, specifically:
1. The XCRS remote start relay pack has the starter kill relay built into it, and also is the source for the alarm's ignition trigger.
2. The ribbon cable supplies the ground-when-armed output to activate the starter kill as well as the ignition trigger input.
3. The hoodpin cannot be sensed through any other way than through the H3 harness.
The manual specifies that the ACC wire should be connected to the circuit that powers the blower because that's what the primary purpose of an accessory wire is - to allow the heater controls to function when the car is remote started. The car might have separate wires which power radio, power windows, etc. which aren't necessary for R/S.
I would suggest that you install the remote start wires - it's really not that hard on that old of a car. If the manual transmission swap goes as planned there are add-on accessories which will allow safe remote starting with a manual transmission, such as the DEI 689M.

If your not planning on using the remote start part of the 5900 at all,  then you dont have to wire up the the fat wires off the relay pack if you dont want to, you can  do this if you want cut one end of the ribbon harness off ( leaving a little wire) and use the yellow which is the (+) ignition input to the alarm and go straight to ingition and use the ORANGE / black to wire up a relay for a starter kill  or  you can use the orange off the h1 harness and wire up a relay for a starter kill also.

I hope this helps

I've copied from your other post...generally you don't need to start a new thread for the same install, but it's not a big deal.

Hi folks, newb here. Even thought Im have many years of electronic experience this alarm install is confusing me a bit. I have a few specific questions:

1) Is listing a connection (H2/1) for proggresive locks, what are they??

2) The overrride switch on H3/1 is to override the remoter starter capability ?, Can this switch not be used and just ground this wire ??

3) Whats channel 6 normally used for ??

4) I need verification for the following (key switch interface connector) due to differents charts giving me different colors or directions:

Purple (starter output):

Green (starter input):

Pink (ign output):

I've seen from having to connect two wires to purple to needing relays in order to use them. Very confusing... I've been searching the last two days with little help in the already mentioned areas. I will appreciate any assistance. Thanks

1. Progressive unlocking is usually found on factory keyless entry systems. The first press of the unlock button on the remote will unlock the driver's door; the second press will unlock the rest.
You can ignore this wire on your install...there's no easy way to interface progressive unlocking with the type of doorlocks your car has.
2. The override switch wire could be just grounded and it wouldn't affect the safety of the install.
3. Channel 6 can be used for basically anything electrical on the car you want to activate via the remote - it doesn't have to be used for anything in particular and I've never used that many channels, but you could if you wanted to.
4. Your car's ignition switch harness should have the following wires:
Constant 12v+: White
Starter 1: BLACK/ White
Starter 2: BLACK/ Green
Ignition: BLACK/ Red
Accessory: Blue
Cut the BLACK/ White wire. The green wire from the Viper's relay satellite pack will connect to the BLACK/ white wire on the side facing the key switch. The purple wire from the relay satellite will connect to the other side of the BLACK/ white wire on the car.
BLACK/ Red is your ignition output - the pink from the relay satellite goes there. Blue is accessory and the orange from the relay satellite goes there.
You'll need a single relay for the BLACK/ green cold starter(start 2) wire on the car. Wire it as follows:
85 - purple starter (-) small gauge output from the relay satellite
86, 87 - constant 12v (+)
30 - BLACK/ green cold start wire.

Apprecciate the assistance, guys......

Chris, I can definetely see the whole picture much better after reading your post. I will do the full instal w/the remote starter capabilities. I just need a couple of clarifications before I get to cutting and splicing'...:)

The manual specifically states to use the ACC input going to the heater fans for the ORANGE wire. How critical is this?? The BLUE (ign harness) is use for general ACC items.

I dont have a 2nd starter (BLACK/ greeen) anywhere around my ign. You think it might a BLACK / YELLOW ? This one goes straight to the computer...

Maybe is different in certain Nissan models....

Thanks again...

The orange ACC output, like the other 3 outputs, is just a 12 volt (+) relay output. You could hook it up to power an air horn if you were so inclined, but its designed purpose is to supply an output to the car so that the heater/AC will receive power when the car is remotely started.
It's not necessary, and needlessly complicated, to run that wire directly to the heater blower. The blower obviously has to get power either directly through a wire from the ignition switch(on your car either the BLACK/ red or blue), or via a relay activated by an ignition switch wire. In either case powering up that wire is enough that your blower will work.
BLACK / YELLOW for the cold start wire is a possibility - that's what this site's wiring data says. I was quoting from what I have on my PC in the office here. The wire should be at the ignition switch and show power, like the main starter wire, only when the key's in the crank position.
