It has been a few years since I've done this but I installed a Python 880XP in my German Spec 92 BMW 525i. Everything from the wiring diagram was correct and all went well. BUT when the car is running (on it's own and with remote start) the cluster tach is screwy and I get error messages (in german), when I disconnect the tach sensing wire on the remote start everything is fine except the remote start won't work of course. Now I heard back in the day that some installers were bypassing the tach sensing option somehow but I never paid any attention, anyone heard of this? Anyone know how to fix this problem? If I should hook up at the fuel injectors, could someone please tell me how to get to them? Thanks

can you go voltage sensing? You might wanna try if first. I have no issues with mine but some alarms don't respond well to voltage sensing.
Just a thought

After removing three plastic panels (the amazing plastic engine) I finally got to the injectors, BROWN / white wire, and the remote start works great. The door locks on the other hand... well, that's for another thread.

I thought I would post some info on those door locks for you anyway.
Take a look at this:

Read this completely and proceed with caution.

J, you are a Superstud. I guess I should check and see if I have the deadlock system. Actually my problem is this: My door locks work on a double pulse, you even have to turn the key twice to lock/unlock them. These are really screwy locks, but I guess not TOO uncommon. The passenger door even only unlocks with the master key. I have breifly expairamented with programming the system, like changing the pulse time and trying the built-in dual pulse feature but to no avail. Like I said I haven't spent too much time playing with them but any help with this would be appreciated.

Did you hook up your keyless entry features from your starter yet? It sounds like you did since you were playing around with the double pulse features. Just make sure you dont try to use the keyless entry to unlock the doors when they are dead bolted. you can email if you have any specific questions and I will try to provide any help I can. Click on my profile and then click email. I took a few years of german in High School if you need any help translating those error messaeges. Just kidding I only remember 8 and a half words Unusual Tach Problem -- posted image.
