I'm a total newby here! I'm a PC tech, but I know NOTHING about car alarms. I was poking around under the dash of a recently acquired 91 Volvo trying to track down some intermittent electrical problems & discovered a DEI Sidewinder 5000 ESP dangling under there. I don't have a remote for it. I found the user guide on DEI's site, & it tells about all the neat things it can do, but I don't know whether it even works. It has several connectors on the side, but I don't have a clue what any of them do - except the valet switch, the LED (which I've never seen lit) and the antenna. The other 3 (unlabeled white 3-pin, beige 4-pin, & black 3-pin) connectors are empty. If I had the installation manual, I could probably figure out whether I'd be wasting my money buying a remote. Or whether I'd want the 2-button or the optional 4-button.
Searching this forum, I found a link to a 5000 installation manual, but I can't download it because I'm not registered at DEI - and I can't register because my email address hasn't been submitted by a dealer. And I'm not even sure that it's the right manual - is a 5000 the same as a 5000 ESP? Again, I don't have a clue.
Any help/advice would be appreciated.

Here are the manuals that are available from this site. None listed for the 5000 but there is a manual for the 6000 ESP. It may at least have the wire colors for the main alarm plugs for you.
