I am installing a Clarion NAX980HD in a 2009 Mini Cooper, and I need help find the speed sensor wire. I also need the reverse light wire if possible.

You'l need a CAN adasptor for this, BMW Minis have always been CAN data rather than analogue. Go to the rear lamp, see which cable goes to 12v+ when you select reverse and trace this forward to the floor loom.

At which point I have to ask if you wouldn't rather take this to pros and get them to install this. Have you attempted to remove the h/unit yet? You do realise it's part of the speedo?  My aplogies, didn't edit post, I meant CAN adaptor.

I removed the headunit, but I put it back in. I just moved the a/c unit and window controls down, then cut in and hooked up the clarion VRX785BT headunit. I didn't want to tap into any of the speedometer wires until I new which wire was which.

I'll have to say I'm equally interested in seeing how you're going to mount that Clarion and integrate it with the factory stuff. That's quite a dash design they've got on that vehicle.

I'll post the pics when I'm done, but I still haven't been able to find the speed sensor wire, I guess I'll send it to a mechanic shop and try to see if they have a CAN adapter. Thanks for the help
