I've never done a remote-start on a VW before. I've been approached by somebody and I now have the chance to do one. The person has a Viper 5701 system...

Can somebody tell me if the install is any different than that of another remote-start since the Jetta is a TDI TURBODIESEL?? Are there any changes in the install itself, like something needs to be wired differently, etc....

I've seen the wiring diagram on this website and the install looks pretty straight forward... except one thing. I dont understand what to do or how to wire these parking-lights. The diagram says there are 2 different wires for the left & right light?!

Can somebody please help me out, thanks.

2 wires yes. and you need them both. you have to isolate them from the switch using relays like you would do on the parklight wire on some chryslers(only these are positive trigger not negative), or like the trunk release on a newer Toyota Camry (5 wire).
