5501 lock wiring

I am installing a viper 5501 remote start in my 2000 bonneville.  I know the car needs a negitive to lock unlock the doors

My question is in the manual it states that the lock and unlock can be + or - I am confused on what if anything I need to do to have it be negative

The manual doesnt really state any info on the topic

i provides both you just need to hitch the wires up

green should be lock and blue is unlock

I have installed remote starters that was + or - not both this seamed odd to me

i have never used a single diode in any flipflops in as many years as dei has been using them

and i have had 0 issues

If the remote lock/unlock is being operated and the opposite interior switch is active, you will. The module's lock/unlock circuit will burn out and possibly the module as well.

the only time you really need them is when connecting them to a 1-wire door lock system and there are a few times where if you go wire to wire with the door lock outputs, some modules will do strange things or the locks will just not work at all through the bypass module.

I have them hooked up with no diodes at the moment seams to be working. They are wired according to the dei techsoft wiring guide

They are hooked to the - RED / black lock and - ORANGE / black unlock drivers door lock switch
