I have a '71 Chevelle and plan to do some road trips so I want to install a 2-way alarm for some added comfort when sleeping in a hotel. The car has a motor swap from a 2002 Corvette, which I did myself and rewired the entire car so I am intimate with the wiring system. I have no need for remote start at this time and just want alarm functionality. I will possibly install power locks/windows in the future.
Main goal is to be alerted from towing, opening doors (2DR), and the hood. The car is so loud if someone started it I doubt I would sleep through it, so towing is the main concern. Distance isn't a huge issue since it will be hopefully parked directly outside my hotel room. Looks like Compustar is about the best I can get. I was looking at the P2WSS or 2W900FMR any benefits to either of these? Any add ons I should get (backup battery, digital tilt sensor.....)? Anything else needed to wire the doors and hood?
I've been a lurker on here for a while and I know there are quite a few very knowledgeable folks. Thanks for the help.

Make sure that you have some type of hood lock that can't be compromised from outside. There are special cables that use a key to slide a pin through the hood latch. The key cylinder is inside the car. Make sure that you have the minimum atleast: doorpins, hoodpin, trunkpin, shock/impact sensor. A tracking system will also help if you aren't around when someone comes to steal it. Make sure that the alarm's status LED is visible from both sides of the car. It is your best deterent. Remember, the alarm is only as good as the install. Hide everything well.
