Hi, I want to control my 5 wire LK01-10-122 - MES 2 DOOR POWER DOOR LOCK KIT from Electric-Life.com with my Viper 791XV alarm system.
The kit has a relay control module and in its wiring diagram it calls for - negative input on one wire for lock, and - negative input on another wire for unlock.
If understand the 791XV diagram correctly, it shows a Pwr Lock harness with two output wires that apparently output both positive pulse and negative pulse each, on unlock or lock.
My questions are:
1. Since this is a 5 wire setup with its own control relay module, can I wire up without additional relays?
2. The fact that the 791XV will be sending out both positive and negative pulses on same wire, will that in itself require that I build a relay setup to convert positive and negative pulses to a single negative pulse? Or will the configuration of the five wire powerlock system just ignore the un-needed positive pulse?
thanks

you don't need relays. wire it up like a 3 wire negative system. the two wires that take the neg inputs can be connected to the 791xv.

Just to add to the above use 1N400X series diodes on those wires with the bands towards the 791, thus you make sure the 791 only puts out neg and any coil collapse from the (BLUE?) MES relay causes no problems for the alarm.

Thanks 91Stt and Howie II,
I really appreciate the advice. By the way, the MES relay in my kit happens to be blue, so that probably is driven by "what's in stock". I think I will grab the diodes to be sure.
Thanks again, both of you.
