vehicle: 2008 Nissan Altima 2.5L w/ push-button start
RS unit: Viper 5601. Standard 1-way alarm/RS
After searching around and calling fortin and idatalink up, I realized that I got some older model of CANbus unit for my buddy's car. These are units has been in my possession for several yrs now. It's been awhile since I have kept up w/ mobile security.
two bypass:
1. idatalink ADS-DLSL-CA(not CA2)
2. fortin CAN-SL2 v1.4
Are there anyways of getting these two to work?
-I know the CA is lacking the ignition input wire but other than that, every wires are the same, and this unit is firmware upgradable.
-CAN-SL2 can only work up to 2007 altima. Reading couple of post on here, Chris Luongo, say it should work but the dude from fortin says no. The post was dated back in 2007 or so.
any input would help bc I dont want to waste my buddy's time and possibly fry his BCM.
btw, does these rep from idatalink and fortin have any background in the design or operation of these units or they just go by the papers?

Alright, I called idatalink again and someone was able to help me. it turns out the ads-dlsl-ca(discontinued model) will work on 07+ altima.
does anyone know the different b/t the two? I know the CA2 can just override the RS and let the key take over w/o having to press button twice, but does the CA do that?
I guess these guys are just going off on their paper.

does anyone know if there is space behind that cluster to hide the viper brain? it's about the same size as the compustar alarm/RS.
if I use the viper's 200mA(-) starter wire, is that enough power to push the relay thats on the IPDM side?
will my RED / white 200mA trunk output on the viper be enough to open the (-) trunk?
if anyone have tips on this let me know by sunday noon.

FINAL UPDATE:
did everything idatalink said, every single pages, and success. turns out his car had a second BCM and IPDM.
clutch is negative. I didnt wanna mess w/ these CANbus system, so I just use their two wires on that switch, one on 30 and one on 87.
What's weird was that after the first RS, everything works and car takes over as soon as you press the brake. Then all of a sudden, I couldn't turn it off through the BUTTON. I had to press and hold the BUTTON until it turn off. However it didnt turn off completely, it goes into ACC, then had to press couple of more times to turn it off. Same goes w/o RS and start normally.
I took the ground off to the batt for about 10min then put it back and everything works normally.
I had to use a total of three relays and two diodes.
Tried my bitwriter and no go. I guess my chip is outdated for these newer DEI units.
