I was wondering if anyone has worked on a 2008 Acura RDX (alarm/remote starter).  I am almost finished installing an autopage rs 1000 oled unit and the only thing left is the trunk status wire.  The wiring diagram says nothing about it or where it is located.  Anyone have any suggestions? thanks.

if Im correct your talking about trunk pin its blue in the dr kick or fuse box top plug, but if your talkimg about trunk release its pink also in the kick or in the same plug as the trunk pin you must test the wire with the handle on the hatch

Hope this helps

Thank you,  I will try looking for this.  Have you done an installation on the RDX?  I noticed the wiring diagram I have said that this car has 1 ignition and 2 accessory wires, however  one of the accessory wires tested as an ignition wire.  I still went with treating it as a second accessory wire. It remote starts fine and all the accessories work as well.  I did notice that after 5 seconds when the car has been remote started the dash lights go dim (ie: clock).  As soon as I put the key in and apply the brake as you should, the lights (clock) go bright again.  I wonder if this has something to do with the ign and acc wires.  Any suggestions? Thanks.

nope thats related to your parking light circuit being activated with remote start, when you step on the brake it shuts down the remote start so the feed to your parking lights shuts off.  In turn you instrument cluster defaults back to a "lights off" brightness level.  You could reproduce this by starting your car with the key and turning the lights on, you should have the same results.  When you shut the lights off your instrument cluster should be back to full luminance (not sure if thats a real word).

So basically theres nothing I can do about that?  I was trying to mimic exactly what the key would do.  When I start my vehicle with the Key, the illumance is bright even with my light switch off, But when i do it with the remote starter it goes dim 5 seconds later after the remote starter has been activated and the car is running.  Does this car infact have 1 ign wire and 2 acc wires? I also couldnt find the tach, any suggestions? Thanks.

My civic does the same thing. If I was last driving at night, and had the dash lights "dimmed" when I remote start the car the dash will be dim, because the lights were dim last night, and the light circuit is energized. As soon as I do a key take over the dash lights back up. BUT if I turn the lights ON.... down they go! Totally normal.

Your Acura has all the standard Honda colors, and only 1 ea. ign. and accs.

Tach info I have says under the hood at the ECM. Connector closest to the firewall. above a red, next to a yellow/lt. blue.

It's a single cylinder reading.
