Hey guys,

I'm installing a Viper 5701 in my 07 Escalade and have a couple of questions on the bus interface.  I've installed several alarms before but none on a bus system.  I'm leaning towards the ADS-AL CA interface as I've read better things about IDatalink interfaces than DEI's.  But I'd like to use D2D if possible and am wondering if it can do D2D between IDatalink & DEI?  I read that a special cable is necessary?  Where would I get that? I also read a post saying that the interface should be flashed with the DBI protocol?  I wonder if it would be easier to just use a DLPKGM or CANMAX400?

And one last question.  I may also be installing an old Invisibeam+ add-on voice module which has connections for door, trunk, shock inputs.  So if I use D2D for the alarm, would the W2W wires still output the signals?

Thanks for your help,

~John

On the DLPKGM it states in the install manual that analog inputs (W2W) are disabled for security while programmed for D2D.

Ah, ok. Wonder if the ads-al ca works the same way? I guess I could get it and the special D2D cable (which I believe is this one: http://www.autotoys.com/x/product.php?productid=13202) and if it didn't work in D2D I could always fall back to W2W.
