I have read many of the posts involving similar makes and model trucks as I have but it seems not many are using this newer python alarm system. I have experience ending in 2004 with installing alarms and rs units. I started installing this python 1091 by connecting the ground, and all the red, RED / white, RED / black wires to +12v in the column. Then I hooked up the ign1 ign2 and acc. did not need the starter wires so i left them alone. I hooked up the brake and light flash so i could see what was going on. I then hooked up the nss switch to on, and pluged in the antenna/led/valet assy. hit the lock button to test, then unlock, then tried remote starting the unit with the key in the ign. it did go through the start sequence but then decided it did not want to play nice anymore and would not turn off even when I pulled the key from the ignition and hit the brake. I had to pull the 3 30A fuses to get the truck to turn off. I tested the relay wires and it seems the internal relays shorted.

My question is if this is common to newer DEI products and has anyone experienced this before? What can I do about this as I bought this unit off Amazon and not from a directed dealer, as soon as i heard the 699 installed price for a 250 unit, i went the do it myself route.

Any help is appreciated. TIA to you 12 volt professionals.

Also, forgot the bypass i am using is a DEI xk01; it seems to have all the features needed and will be doing this d2d if it works, if not w2w. I am putting in this system since I am addicted to remote start and all my vehicles have had a 791xv in them for years, I wish I had pulled the system out of my trade in 00 sierra.  Everything I needed was already there.

Again this is going in a 2006 Chevy Silverado with the 6.6l Duramax/Allison. Python 591/1091 they are the same thing, except on DEI website.
