I have a 2008 Ford F250 with the back up camera. I installed a 2009 sat nav. and I want to connect the back up

image to the nav screen. I know the wire for this is in the passenger door sill, just not which one or how to hook it

up to the rca cable adapter to the back of the tuner.

hi,

in the right A-pillar, there are the wires for the camera...leading upto the rear view mirror.

WHITE/ green...video +, BROWN / violet...video -, and a shield for those two wires.  use the video + and shield.

connect those to an rca cable/plug.  the GREEN/ brown is the reverse signal (+12 volts) to activate the

monitor in the mirror.  it is also in the pillar.

Thanks, so I just buy a male rca connector that I can connect to the video + and shield? Or is there a certain type I should look for? I may also have to lengthen the wires to reach to the back of the tuner.

so you are using a factory 2009 head unit.  you'll need to bring the video + and video - to the radio.

the ford radio has a 10 pin (2 x 5) receptacle on the rear that is the video input, pin 1 is video +, pin 6 video -.  Motorcraft part WPT-559 ia a pigtail harness that fits this application...i thought you were headed aftermarket.

not sure if the '08 electronics in the vehicle will send the proper signals to an '09 radio (to activate the camera input)

Yeah I have a 09 head unit, and also have the pigtail harness for it. Just not sure how to connect the two. The harness from the camera does not have a rca on the end before attaching to the rear view mirror does it? As far as I know the electronics will send the proper signal.

no rca needed, extend the WHITE/ green and BROWN / violet to the radio opening.  twisting those wires together slightly wouldn't hurt either.

I bought a wire harness to add a vid. camera to the radio. It plugs into the back and has a rca end on it too. I thought I would have to connect the camera to it through the rca.

Ok, one thing I am not sure of. The wires in the a pillar don't have a rca end correct? They continue and plug into the back of the rear view mirror. So I cut them and run them through the dash and buy a rca kit from a Radio Shack? Or some thing that will allow a male rca end to be attached to the wires?
