okay so im having a problem that alot of others have had with the "remote start error" showing up but everything else works, im HOPING that it will work after i switch to automatic transmission mode, BUT

i dont have a bit writer and tried to program through the control button but when i followed the direction, it never chirped to let me know which menu to choose or anything... i know the siren works, so its not like it didnt chirp because its not plugged up, everything seems fine. but it just wont chirp and cycle through the menu options. any thoughts?

also i cut the yellow wire for my starter in half and sent the green wire to the car side, and the purple to the key side (or vice versa, REGARDLESS i hooked thr right color to the right side of the starter wire) ive triple check and test all wires BUT when i start my truck with the key (since the r/s doesnt work) and when i went to turn it off it just kept trying to turn over non stop, wouldnt start, but it was trying,   and thr only way i could shut the truck off is to put it in (any) gear and then back to park and it would shut off without trying to crank... so im not sure what the problem is,

ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED

BTW, this is in a 2001 dodge ram 1500 if anyone needs to know
