Have a 2000 infiniti G20T with a viper 791vx installed. using a 556u bypass for key and suffering from random problem. I do not have any of the alarm part of the system set up just the remote start. the other wires are either not used for grouded.

Have used system for over 2 years with no issues. Randomly the car will not start. with remote start or with key. everything sounds like it is about to start when using both key and remote but it doesn't turn the motor over. just the normal clicks. I have looked up many different troubleshooting tips and tried them. But I worked on it for many hours in the sun (made it feel longer) and finally had it towed to my house. I am not sure what all info will be needed. I can take pictures or add other info just rather stuck after going through and checking the wires.

The only side note I can think of is that the first time this happened I worked on it for an hour or two looking for loose wires. I went to the store to get a drink. Came back and decided to try it and it worked. Not sure why. System worked fine for 2 or so weeks and it just happened again. thanks in advance.

Sounds like something is faulty in the vehicle! Judging from what you said you shouldn't go messing with the remote starter just yet!

really? The reason I went straight to the remote start is that everything is working great except it not starting and I have had this situation happen before but it was when I unlocked the car with my key and not the unlock button so the car was immobilized. but again I am a rookie with this stuff.

You said the key was not starting the vehicle as well, so i assumed you would have unlocked (disarmed) the vehicle to try and start, simply because as you said, not disarming would have it immobilised.

sorry for the misunderstanding. my current issue is that it seems to be behaving like it did when I unlocked the car with the key only.

I have currently tried many different things inorder to get my car working. I am not sure that the issue is something other than the wiring. though I am not sure how to diagnose a bad starter. even with a bad starter it would at least make some other noises right?
