I have installed power locks for use with alarms twice on the 97 model Tacoma, and I will personally tell you, that if your door locks are on the top lip of the door near the window, and you have not worked with door actuartors much, that you will be in for a nice treat. The first time that I did it it was quite a task. You will need to remove quite a few things, such as the plastic tubing that Toyota put around the door lock pole. Installing power door locks in cars where the actual door lock button is on the side of the door is much easier. It can be done, but its going to take quite a bit of work.
Good luck
