I'm tring to install a Viper 5101 and a idatalink ADS-TB-TL 3.1 into my 2003 oldsmobile silhouette.

it turns on heater flashes lights (it's giving the output for the starter) but the starter won't turn over. it does this 3 times then just gives up viper shows no error codes.

it'll lock and turn on alarm. it will open sliding door.

it'll shut off alarm but will not unlock vehicle.

I've switched the unlock and lock wires then it'll unlock car but not lock. so it's not bad relay in viper unit.

I've switched the pulse length to 3.5 like it says on the bulldog vehicle wireing sheet

in the manual request area a member said I have the wrong firmware for the idatalink. on the idatalink site it says quick search enter guide # off box. 397 hit go button and it shows me vehicles that arn't mine.

I'm out of ideas. can anyone help?

Sounds like 2 problems.  Bypass and door locks.

If the ADS TB module is flashed with the correct firmware, ADS TB GM Ver 2.8, it should work.  The only way to tell is with the ADS USB cable.

Did you follow the install guide (  # 2765 )?  Did you set the module to the correct mode? Either Data ( 1 blink ) for D2D connection or Standard ( 2 blinks ) for W2W connections.  I would go with W2W connections for your application.  Did it give the correct results when you programmed it to the car?

Does your minivan have the factory alarm?  If yes, then use lock / unlock wires at BCM and the 3.5 sec pulse.  If no, use lock / unlock wires in kick panel and standard pulse length.  Did you use a meter to locate and verify the lock / unlock wires?

Soldering is fun!

it works

I tried posting last night. it said I didn't have a goo title where do you put the title

I figured it out. I didn't hook up the 2nd ignition.

I had to hook the alarm off wire to unlock wire on bcm and unlock wire to white unlock wire.

the unlock wire to the ORANGE / black wire (like on the data sheet) just shut off the alarm even when set to 3.5

thanks
