2010 rav4 remote start problems

Hello Everyone,
I really need all you expert help.
I took my car to my local car stereo shop who has been doing all my alarm and stereo work for over 15 years.
I asked to have a Viper 5301 Responder LE 2 Way Remote Start System Installed with the Trasponder Bypass.
Well after the shop working on my car for 13 hours they were unable to get the remote start to work with out the key in the ignition.
They ran into multiple issues with the install. First issue there was a bad starter output on the Starter wire coming out of the 5301. They resolved this issue by putting in a new 5301 brain. So at this point we were able to rmote start the car with the key in the ignition.
Now the next fun project the trasponder bypass. We tried two differnt units (idat-alink and the DEI Pkall Data Trasponder Bypass) both learned the key but neither unit would allow the car to fire. The car would try to start but would not fire.
I think this is a wiring problem but I am not sure. On tuesday we are going to install the bypass modual that uses a key. We are going to use my valet key. I am ok with this but I would rather install it using the Data Trasponder Bypass.
Can any one help with this?
Does anyone have any suggestions.
Does anyone know eactly which wires they connected to for the Trasponder Bypass. Pictures would be greatly appreciated.
Did anyone else have a problem getting the bypass to work?

Is there a "G" stamped on your ignition key?

The PKALL should work fine.  There is different install wiring with the PKALL depending on whether you have the 80 Bit encryption ( "G" ) or the older 40 Bit.

Your install shop should be aware of this...

There is no Gstamp on my key. I know when they tried the I data module they tried both the 40 bit setup as well as the 80 bit setup. Don't know what they did with the pkall module.
Question: where are the IMO and IMI wires. At first they grabed them under the dash then they went to the main wire harness under the hood at the computer.   Neither location made a difference but it seems like they graves the right wires since both modules actted liked they learned the key properly.

Regular 40 Bit is done right at the steering column with either module, iDatalink or PKALL.  With a XK05 w/PKT2 firmware is done like an 80 Bit.

New 80 Bit is done at IMI /  IMO wires found under drivers dash, behind fuse box.  Here is a link to the DEI WEB site for more info on PKALL : http://www.xpresskit.com/product.aspx?productid=196  They even have a photo of the IMO / IMI wires in the connector.

If you still have problems, suggest they call iDatalink Tech Support.  They are very knowledgeable.

My wife has the 2010 rav4 that we bought in June and it has an 80bit key. I'm surprised that an august build date doesn't have it... Either way, the IMO/IMI wires are WAY up there behind the fuse box next to the top of the Brake Pedal. The connector with the wires you need are in a plug facing down toward the floor. You'l see the wires run into a thick harness with lots of wires. To get more slack, i removed some of the tape around the large harness to expose more of the green and pink wires. Fortin Has a higher resolution picture of the wires than the other companies. I actually did use their Keyoverride-ALL and it worked on the first shot.
