Hi
I would like to alter the basic wiring to the headlights & park-lights on a 1995 Mazda pick-up to prevent battery rundown when the headlights etc. are accidentally left on.This vehicle has only electronic ignition, no alarm or engine management system. Any advice & wiring diagram would be appreciated.

You could open the power wire to the headlight switch with a relay and have the relay only enerigize when the key is in the on position. That way the headlights would only work when the key is on And shut off when the key is off

Or a buzzer powered by either side or head lights power feed, grounded via the driver's door trigger.
