I've been researching security/alarm systems trying to decide what to install on my 2011 Ford Ranger. I really like the Avital 2 way setup, but haven't heard much about them. Are they as good as Viper and Python? The Prestige I'm not so sure about; Nobody in my area seems to use them. Any insight would be helpful!

Both are solid and reliable products, and both are from reputable companies (DEI makes Avital, Audiovox makes Prestige).

The Prestige APS787C has one way chrome remotes.  The equivalent 2 way from Prestige is the APS997C (about the same functionality as the APS 787C with a 2 way remote).

The only thing I don't care for with the Avital 5303--it has a seperate relay box for the high current remote start relays, and that can make the installation a bit cumbersome.

Both the Prestige and the Avital could be upgraded to add Carlink (Audiovox) or Smart Start (DEI) in the future.

With the choices you mentioned, I like the Prestige APS787C, but that is just what I am most familiar with.   You would be fine with either unit.
