I have a CT-3400 TW remote starter from Prostart that was installed in a 99 GMC Sierra. I had a local shop re-install it into my 08 dodge ram sxt. the starter works fine in the ram but at first I could not enter into programming mode. Upon further investigation I discovered that they did not install the hood pin. To bypass this until I can get the truck back in to fix I sent the hood pin lead to ground to simulate hood up position and used the button on the side of the module to enter into programming mode. The L.E.D. stays lit for 20 seconds at which time I have to select mode to enter into. I press and hold the brake and tried every different mode button on FOB but get no response whatsoever. the L.E.D. just goes out after 20 sec.. I have tested the brake switch by pressing under remote start and it does kill the engine which leads me to believe that it is working correctly. I even tried it with the engine running just in case the brake light circuit is only active in run position and still no luck. I have no issues with any normal features (remote start, door locks). I even tried to re-regiser the fob. but once again when in programming mode it doesn't respond to holding the lock button after doing the ignition on-off. The antenna on the fob display does signal button pushes but no parking light or chirps. Anybody have any ideas on this one?
Thanks in Advance

i thought after you have led light on solid, you cycle the ignition, ie turn the key from off to on, and then press lock to program the remote.. (when you cycle the ign, the led should go out). did the shop switch the IGN/ACS wire? in the sierra the ign wire is pink (Yellow on the prostart) and the accessory wire is Orange on truck and orange on the starter.

Thanks for the reply. It says in the manual:
1. Before the 20 seconds have passed, turn the key to ignition on (run)position and then to the off position.
2. Press and hold the lock button until the vehicle gives 5 flashes. The module has stored the the transmitter in it's memory.
3. close the hood to exit.
I turn to run position then off within 20 seconds, hold the lock button but no flashes at all from the vehicle. If the mixed up the acc/ign would it still crank? I think the parking light connection is a little fishy because when entering programming mode I didn't notice them staying on after flashing the button but the led on the antenna was on solid for 20 seconds. Also under remote start I have no lights at all. I do not have auto headlights but I don't see why The parking lights wouldn't come on. if the parking lights were not correct could it possibly be causing this programming issue? I would assume that as long as you had hood pin and brake connection you should be able to program. The manual says these two leads specifically must be connected for programming. I'll have a look under the dash today and reply with what I find.(I am almost afraid to look!!)

well it looks like they didn't hook up the parking lights either. the positive lead is disconnected and well I don't even see a 2 pin connector. there is a port for one but no harness. Also I finally got it to re-learn the transmitter. I entered into programming mode did the on-off ign. sequence and held lock button and got my 5 flash confirmation but still cannot program any features. The battery in the transmitter is brand new also. I am completely lost.

Well I was finally able to program this thing. Turns out the brake switch on this vehicle is only hot when in run position. I jumped the lead and attached a 12 volt supply to simulate brake press and just like that I was able to navigate through the programming center. I still can't get rid of the horn chirp after first lock pulse but I think it is the factory alarm causing it. The manual says it is enabled by default from the factory and gives instructions on how to disable but all my attempts have failed. I have tried with hood up to try to disable the remote start and tried in valet mode as well. Guess I'll have to start searching for an answer to that now.
Good day:)
