Hello,

I’m looking for some help with my attempted install of a Clifford keyless & remote start system in a 1999 Ford F-150 that did not come with factory keyless. The door triggers are giving me trouble. I know the door trigger on the Clifford system is a negative trigger system. I believe the lock/unlock signal on the non-factory keyless F-150 is a positive system. I setup a couple of relays to send the positive signal to the actuators, and it worked, however the wires to the actuators get very warm very quickly (which tells me it’s shorting out). I cannot figure out why.

Can someone provide me with some direction on how to get this working?

Thanks.

They are not positive pulse locks.. they are 5 wire. YOu have to cut the factory wire and connect the relays as follows:
Pin 30 to motor side of cut wire
Pin 87a to switch side of cut wire
Pin 87 to fused 12v constant
Pin 85 to fused 12v constant
Pin 86 to (-) output from unit
Do one relay setup for lock, and another for unlock.
