Hey, has anyone done this vehicle without problems?
A long term installer friend of mine did this install 2 weeks ago, and the customer is saying it wont start majority of the time. With that being said I saw the vehicle first hand and didn't know where to start(had little time, as school was around the corner)
Long story short. Viper 5901 + SmartStart + Idatalink ADS-AL-CA flashed with ADS-AL(DL)-MA (V1.51)
Vehicle: 2011 Mazdaspeed 3 Manual PTS with intellikey
The customer says: " On cold days, the vehicle will not start, no attempt to crank at all"
Well, the customer dropped it off and my friend and i let it sit outside in -10 degrees celcius temp. Started and it worked everytime. Brought it into the bay, sat inside the car and remote started, it wouldn't start(crank) Normal start sequence acc, ign, no crank. Metered the start wire and its fine, and checked the clutch bypass as well. Removing the intellikey from the car (thinking it was a 2key issue) it starts up always. Tach is run btw.
My theory is the car senses 2 keys and wont start. But as we ask the customer he says at 5ft-100ft it wont start. I'm thinking this guy must be starting his car too close to the vehicle...After all, it is intellikey. He assures us even at 50ft it wont start, but we tested for a few hours and had no issue. Who do I believe? the customer or my friend that's been installing for 22 years right?
the bypass was programmed at the dealer with the OEM scantool.
anyone have issues with this vehicle? the last resort for my friend is to rip it out and refund the customer. Its funny because it works flawlessly when the key is not close to the vehicle. I even suggested the customer stand back further lol and start the car. 2011 mazdaspeed 3 pts manual -- posted image.

Even without Intellikey (or keyless-go as Ford are calling it in the UK) hasn't it always been a Ford/Mazda problem with 2 keys?

programming the bypass module can be problematic without a second key. i have not heard back from my friend, guess that means the customer. Will keep the thread updated.
