08 f150, viper 5701

i have recently bought a viper 5701 system and im installing it in an 08 F150.  its just the plain jane stock model xl, man trans man windows, and came stock with man locks but has an aftermarket MICRO? keyless entry system. I would like to rip out the micro and install this nice 5701 just to run my keyless entry until i can get the time to really bust into the remote start portion of the system. i already have the data bus for the r.s. my question is- does the 5701 have the capability to just function as a keyless entry? And if so how would i go about wirin it this way? I have tried to put the viper in the way the micro was installed and in theory according to both wirin diagrams it should work. but all i get is the "youve done it wrong" buzzer from the remote..... Please help I would mighty preciate any help at all. If it goes BOOM or VROOM im somewhere close.

If you are using the blue and green lock/unlock wires from the 5701 to drive the lock actuators, it will not work. You will need a DEI 451M lock/unlock relay. You can find them on E-Bay easy enough.  Or a couple of relays as in the relay section of this site.  The blue and green wires are not ment to drive the actuators directly.When all else fails, Read the Instructions
