I'm installing a xpress dx360 car alarm in a 93 ford explorer xlt. Having a problem with wiring up the door lock/unlock wires. There are two wires from the alarm system for the door locks and 5 wires to the door locking switch. No matter which door lock connector the wires from the alarm system are connected to, the locks don't lock or unlock. I need to know what I should do to get the locks to lock and unlock with this alarm system.

Does the Explorer have Factory Keyless entry?

Yes - Type B (-)  -  Straight connection from the after-market system.  Info from DEI :

Keyless-entry vehicles are (-) pulse locks same colors. Module located in left rear quarter panel.

No - Type C ( 5 wire REV ) -  Obtain a DEI 451M module ( ~ $10 ).  Here is a link to the 451M install guide :

No, it does not have the Factory Keyless entry. Any idea where to get this relay module?

You could try a local Car Audio Install shop, Best Buy or even EBay.  There are many sources found with an internet search, too.  You could also do it with 2 SPDT relays and a 15A fuse.  Here is a link for that digram :  https://www.the12volt.com/doorlocks/page3.asp#5w

Thank you. I just ordered one off eBay for $10. It looks easy enough to install. I thought about using two relays and already have two of em set up to do just this job, but I think it would be easier and cleaner to use the 451M Relay.

Excellent!  The 451M keeps everything neat for a reasonable price.  Just follow the Type C install directions on Page3 and you should be all set.  xpress dx360 in 93 ford explorer problem -- posted image.

I have a 93 Ford Explorer XLT with an XO (Xpress) CX370 alarm system with a 451M Micro Door Lock Relay Module. I'm following the wiring diagram "C" from the 451M Micro Module, but I'm not understanding how the alarm system's two wires connect to the Relay Module and the vehicle. The diagrams for the alarm system doesn't say anything about the Relay Module and the Relay Module doesn't say anything about the alarm system. Does anyone know how to connect all the wires up correctly?

That's a DX370 model, not CX370.

The 451M connects to the Explorer as per the Type C diagram.  The DX370 connects to the 451M via its 3 Pin

Plug.  It comes with a plug on it that directly fits the DEI units.  You will cut that plug off and split the three wires
to enable connections to the DX370 wires.  While the diode is optional, it is recommended due to the DX370's
"Push-Pull" type output on the lock wires.

DX370          Diode 1N4001**          451M

Light Green (-) Lock   Band towards DX370           Green
Light Blue (-) Unlock Band towards DX370           Blue
Red               None              Red     ** connect after in-line fuse

** (Any blocking diode 1N4001, 1N4004, 1N4007, etc.)

Wow, that helps. Thank you. I guess I have only one more question. Where is the diodes? I got all resisters, 12 blue and 16 yellow.
