Ok all I have been a installer for almost a year now and I have installed a fair amount of remote starters. At my place of work we use DEI 555L's to bypass passlock so I'm not real familiar with using a resistor and a relay to bypass passlock II. Here is my dilemma.... I measured the resistance of a few trucks that I will be doing remote starters in this coming week. Here is what I got
First truck 2.470k
Second truck 1.325k
Third truck 2.475k
Forth truck 2.472k
I attained these #'s by starting the truck and then I cut the yellow wire and put my red probe on the key side of the wire I cut and then I put my black probe on the striped area of the ORANGE / black wire. I did this twice for each vehicle and got close to the same resistances each time. I'm going to use this relay setup to bypass passlock temporally with the resistors that I make to match the above resistances.
My question is.... do these resistances look correct to the people that bypass passlock like this all the time? I just want to be sure I'm doing this the right way so I don't have to do it over. Please help me out if you can because it would be greatly appreciated.

Why do you want to use a relay? Its not always perfectly reliable.   The resistance will vary with the vehicle. It will also vary with temperature. The 555L relearns the resistance everytime the vehicle is started.

Well since there is a %5 tolerance I think that the relay will work just fine + i don't want to have to shell out 25 bones for each 555L.
