2005 gmc sierra autostart

I am trying to install a DEI Avital 4103XL into a GMC Sierra 2005 Base Model. This truck doesn't have power locks or anything. I am trying to find out if I need a passlock bypass module for this. Everything makes it look like I need it, but I can't imagine a stripped down truck having that feature. If I do, can someone suggest a good one to use. I plan on installing power locks when I do this as well. Any suggestions on this would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The 2005 GMC Sierra should the same as this 2003 Yukon in this Pictorial.   https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/forum_posts.asp~TID~133000~PN~1Should be very straight forward to do.  You will probably need a Passlock2 bypass module.  You can check for Passlock2 by looking for the three Paslock2 wires in the steering column ( Yellow, Black and RED / White ).  There are many good bypass modules for this vehicle. If you want real easy, look for an iDatalink ADS TBSL PL bypass module.  Very easy wiring, very easy programming and very reliable.Soldering is fun!

Installing actuators in the doors for power locks can be a major PITA. The alignment of the actuator to the locking rod has to be almost perfect or else it could lead to a premature failure of the actuator due to the added stress. You also have to be mindful of all moving parts when adding the actuator and running the wires into the cab of the truck. The window track is a big one to watch for. Running the wires across the track or putting the actuator too close could cause a short in the wiring if the wires get caught in the track of the window. Actuators are definitely not for beginners.Kenny

Thanks for the input on the door actuators. They are a PITA. This by far isn't the first automotive wiring job or even aviation for that matter. I rewrapped the harness and pulled the new wires with the door closed sensor wire through the door and into the dash. Mounting the motor wasn't too bad once I found a place that was in line. Found a picture online that offered some guidance. I am curious on the autostart though. This vehicle has the IGN2 + wire under the dash. Should this be just spliced together with the IGN1 when connected to the autostart? Will I need to diode these or anything? Thanks

Need to use the Pink/White wire for Ignition 2, Pink for Ignition 1. According to the install manual, it comes set as Ignition 2.

My problem is in the ignition harness I have two yellow wires and no white wire. When putting the meter on them, it appears there are two ignition and two accessory. The auto start has two ignition but only one accessory. Should I not hook one up or just splice them together? Thanks

You would need to use either one of the (-) 200mA accessory or the (-) 200mA ignition from the 4 pin satellite harness with a 30/40 SPDT relay. The Relay section of this site has examples of what you need to do.
