I have installed a ScyTek Astra 4000rs in my 2004 impala everything works but the remote start. The lights would flash 4 times and then the procedure wold restart 3 times, so something was stopping it from starting. I started the car by key and then remote started it from the keyfob, i could then pull the key out and the car would still be running.
That let me know the wiring was right so I concluded it was security. I bought a xpresskit xk06 with firmware pkg7.
This is where everything got worse. I had no idea what to do with the 12v input and output wire or the data wire, so i connected those 3 at the odb ii plug (please correct me if this is the wrong spot.)
Also, the ground when running wire wasn't working on my security system module so i wired a relay that would give the bypass module ground when the ignition wire was showing 12v. The main problem i have now is that i can't program the module. When I hold the button down and start the car by key, it doesn't flash, verifying that it is programmed, but when I hold the button down and then plug the module in, it flashes even though the key hasn't been inserted yet!!
Please help me!!!

Thanks!!! Sorry it's been a while since I've been on, but Bestbuy updated the module for no charge at all.

Sorry for the continous double posting but now I have another problem.
The remote start and bypass are working fine but when the car is remote started there is an immediate grinding noise while starting. i heard of this before but usually it happens after the car is started, this noise happens while the car is starting.
I thought that maybe it was the tach wire so i connected it to the ignition coils (white wire). Now the car won't remote start anymore and it just makes the grinding noise. Everything is fine with the key though
