1990 toyota hilux no reservation mode

I'm in the midst of installing a Compustar 2W8000FM-AS into a 1990 Toyota Hilux turbo diesel 5spd. The controller is a CM3000. The truck has no clutch switch from the factory, no power door locks or windows. The alarm will turn on and off fine and trigger when bumped. The issue I am having is that it will not go into reservation mode for remote start. When I pull the emergency brake and let go of the foot brake I can hear and feel the controller click. When I turn the key off the truck shuts off. What am I missing in my install? The wiring diagrams and info I was able to get from this site so far was awesome, thank you all. Wayne

The only things I can think of are : 1. Have you set the jumper to Tach Mode, connected the Tach wire to a good tach signal source, and completed a successful Tach Learn? Think you must be in Tach Mode for Manual Trans vehicles. 2. Are all the thick CN1 wires correctly connected? Verified with D.M.M.? 3. Have you tried doing a PitStop? ( not sure if the CM3000 can do it ) 4. Of course the obvious items : Brake Input at +12V, Hood Pin and Door Triggers at (-).Soldering is fun!

I called the Compustar tech line a couple times today and made some progress. I wired the small green wire to the purple relay wire and wired the blue relay wire to the second ignition. After those changes it would go into reservation mode just fine. The engine shuts off after closing the door and the alarm sets. It unfortunately still would not remote start. The glow plugs would cycle and then set code #1 "engine running". Also the heater fan would stay running with the park brake set. After talking with the tech he suggested to try and use the tach signal rather than the alternator signal. The alternator signal had just over 3 volts with the key one and full battery voltage when running. I tried using the tach signal and got error code 3 If I recall which was "signal to slow". The tach signal is strange though and the output is a very low voltage. It does increase with RPM. It starts out at .1 vac and goes to about .4vac. I wonder if I should try a tach signal generator? Some diesels can be problematic providing a good Tach signal. Trying a DEI 454T would be the next logical step now that you have the ignition wiring sorted out.Soldering is fun!
