nissan altima w/ ultrastart 1172

Happy Holidays everyone! I'm in what seems like a frozen tundra here in northern Indiana, and my Ultrastart 1172 has decided that it doesn't want to work. I noticed a few weeks ago that the led wasn't blinking when I locked the doors(by habit I use the factory remote since I keep it on my keyring due to the PTS system on the car). I tapped the LED/valetbutton/antenna combo thing on the windshield and jiggled the harness. Magically the led started blinking. I thought maybe i knocked it loose when cleaning the windshield. Now, today, I tried starting it, and nothing. LED is not blinking, both remotes have good batteries. Tried tapping the valet switch thing, removed and reinserted switch harness. Still nothing. Is there a possibility that thing is bad? Other ideas? Thanks for any info

I have noticed that the Ultra Start antenna is a weak spot.  It's not sealed real well and if you are heavy with the Windex at the wrong angle, it will mess up and eventually kill the antenna.Soldering is fun!

I always spray way from it, but that doesn't mean my son doesn't accidentally get it. Or, could moisture be a problem, since you mention not a good seal? I don't see anything out of the ordinary, but who knows. If this is a problem, can I replace it? I tried looking, but to no avail.

I see them on EBay often, usually under $20.  Even the older black ones with the Red LED's and 4 pin connector will work.Soldering is fun!
