Hi Guys,
I have a one button Avital 4111 remote start system on my 2005 Ford Explorer. It has been working perfectly now the engine won't crank. The parking lights come on the ignition comes on, but the engine does not crank.
If I put the key in the ignition and turn it on the the remote start works. Both keys I have for the car are genuine Ford keys.
Also I am unable to find the Valet toggle switch. I did download the manual and noticed that it says press the fob once for remote start. I have always had to press my fob twice for remote start.
I'm hoping it just needs some kind of reset as it has been working ok up until now.
Only other issue may be that my battery has not been in the best condition and I had it replaced yesterday. The remote start stopped working before the battery was replaced.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Best Regards
Eddie

What does the pats light do when you try and remote start the truck ? I'm assuming it flashes fast ? Do you know what was used for a bypass ?

Yes, the Pats light does flash fast. The other thing I just tried is just putting the key in the ignition without turning it and the remote start works. Not sure what you mean by the bypass. I bought the vehicle second hand, so not idea how the system was installed.
Thanks for the reply

The bypass is what simulates a key you can try taking your 2 keys putting the first one in the ingition turning the key on wait for the pats light to go out. Within 5 seconds of removing the first key put the second one in turn it on wait for pats light to go out. Within 5 seconds of removing the second key. Remote start the truck. If it doesnt work you may need to drop the drivers side of the dash and find out what's in there.

The bypass module was a Directed, still did not find the Valet switch. I guess they never fitted it.
Anyway issue solved, thanks so much for pointing me in the right direction.
